Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi – The Gateway to Adventure The anticipation begins. Upon landing at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your Giben Adventures guide. Dive straight into conservation at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where you’ll witness the tender care given to orphaned elephants. Continue to the Giraffe Centre to hand-feed the towering Rothschild giraffes. As the sun sets, enjoy a carnivorous feast at the famous Carnivore Restaurant, savoring game meat roasted over charcoal pits.

Day 2: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru – Into the Great Rift Valley Descend the escarpment. We depart Nairobi after breakfast, winding down the Great Rift Valley escarpment with a stop to photograph the dramatic landscape. Arriving at Lake Nakuru National Park, the air shifts—cooler and filled with bird calls. Your afternoon game drive is a hunt for the rare: this park is a sanctuary for both Black and White Rhinos. As we leave the Rift Valley, the terrain flattens into the endless savannahs you’ve seen in documentaries. After checking into your camp, your first game drive introduces you to the Mara’s density. Keep your camera ready for the “Big Cats”—lions, cheetahs, and leopards—who thrive in these tall grasses. The day ends with a classic African sunset, painting the sky in violets and oranges.

If traveling between July and October, we head to the Mara River to witness the Great Migration—the thunderous crossing of wildebeest and zebras braving crocodile-infested waters. Even in off-peak seasons, the Mara is teeming with elephants, buffalos, and hyenas. We enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild, under the shade of a solitary acacia tree. In the afternoon, we visit a traditional Maasai Village. Here, you will step into a mud-walled Manyatta, learn to jump with the warriors, and understand a culture that has coexisted with wildlife for centuries.
